Apple Vision Pro users will be glad to hear that NASA’s Artemis II launch is being captured in immersive video for a future release.

NASA Artemis 1 moon rocket began its roll back to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) in Florida late on Sept. 26, 2022 in advance of Hurricane Ian. The storm that is forecast to affect the Sunshine State is seen in NOAA GOES-East imagery here.

Artemis astronauts have passed the halfway mark on their journey to the Moon, with the Orion spacecraft now over 219,000 kilometers from Earth. The crew, including Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, was seen preparing meals and sharing stunning views of Earth as they progress towards their lunar flyby.

Resurfaced footage released by YouTuber Gary Friedman shows some of the sturdy computing hardware that powered Voyager 1 and 2, a pair of spacecraft first launched in 1977 and tasked with taking a trip through our solar system.

The crew will travel more than 252,000 miles from Earth – a distance record for humans – before hanging a U-turn behind the moon and heading home.
